My Pharmacy Standards

My Pharmacy Standards (MPS) seeks to support pharmacy professionals by providing bespoke consultancy services helping to raise standards and improve patient outcomes.

From my experience consulting pharmacies, I have put together some courses based on the common queries and issues that I find.

Completion of training courses could be used to support Standard 2.2 for the GPhC Standards for Pharmacy Premises which commonly includes measures to maintain the ongoing competence of team members.

Evidence of ongoing learning may be helpful when demonstrating remediation in Fitness to Practice cases. Contact me for more info.

Hi, I’m Shahzad Ahmad

I have over a decade of experience working with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in different capacities within Education, Policy, and Fitness-to-Practice functions.

For almost five years, I worked as an inspector who visited over 600 registered pharmacies across England, Scotland and Wales. I contributed to GPhC guidance pieces about independent prescribing and guidance for safe and effective pharmacy teams.

I have seen many different models of working in different settings and I am a passionate believer in the power and potential of pharmacy. This led me to leave the GPhC in February 2020 with the aim of using my experience to support the pharmacy profession.

I am qualified as an independent prescriber and have more recently transitioned into digital health.

I'm passionate about empowering individuals to understand more about the governance decisions they are already making.

So, how can I help you on your journey?
